Message from Executive Director
As we reach the halfway point of 2026, I remain humbled by the generosity of those who believe in the vision to transform neurological care across East Africa. Every donation, every introduction, and every conversation has brought us closer to making the East Africa Neuroscience Institute (EANI) a reality.
This quarter has reinforced my optimism about the road ahead. Thanks to your support, our fundraising efforts continue to gain momentum, and I believe we are well positioned to reach our goal in the coming quarter. Your investment contributes to a future where patients across East Africa have access to world-class neurological care, education, and research.

Quarter Two Progress: Continuing Our Momentum
As of the end of the second quarter, NHAF has now raised over $200,000 toward our $700,000 fundraising goal for the East Africa Neuroscience Institute (EANI).
This quarter was highlighted by the receipt of a significant major gift and the establishment of a new recurring monthly pledge, strengthening the long-term sustainability of our fundraising efforts. These investments represent growing confidence in EANI's vision and impact.
While we still have important work ahead, we are encouraged by the momentum that continues to build as more individuals and organizations join our mission.
Expanding Our Impact Today
While fundraising remains our primary focus, NHAF has already begun advancing neurological care through strategic partnerships.
This quarter, NHAF began providing consultation and strategic guidance to a team in Ethiopia that is developing a new neurosurgical center. By sharing expertise and helping strengthen local capacity, we are advancing our mission even before EANI opens its doors.
These collaborations demonstrate the broader role NHAF can play in supporting sustainable neurological care throughout the region while laying the foundation for EANI's future impact.
Looking Ahead: Q3 Fundraising Campaign
Our focus for the third quarter is clear: complete the remaining fundraising needed to launch the next phase of EANI.
Achieving this milestone will allow us to begin working with Build Health International (BHI) in the fourth quarter, marking an important transition from fundraising to implementation and design planning for the institute.
With the momentum we have established over the first half of the year, we are optimistic that this goal is within reach.
