Message from Executive Director
As we begin 2026, I want to take a moment to reflect on the momentum we are building together. This past quarter represents a meaningful step forward for the growing community of individuals who believe in expanding access to neurological care across East Africa.
We are still early in this journey, but the progress we’ve made reinforces what is possible when mission-aligned supporters come together with a shared purpose. I am deeply grateful for your belief in this work and excited for what lies ahead as we move into the next phase.
Quarter One Progress: Surpassing a Major Milestone
In the first quarter of 2026, NHAF has now raised over $150,000 in support of the East Africa Neuroscience Institute (EANI).
This progress marks a significant step toward our broader goal of raising $700,000 to advance EANI’s development and bring this vision to life.
With this progress, we are now on track to re-engage with Build Health International later this year.
This partnership will allow us to move forward with the next phase of design and planning for EANI—bringing us closer to establishing a regional center of excellence for neurological care, training, and research in East Africa.
Each milestone brings us closer to expanding access to life-saving care for millions who currently lack it.
Looking Ahead: Q2 Strategic Fundraising Campaign
The upcoming quarter will focus on a targeted and strategic fundraising campaign to secure the remaining funds needed to begin the next phase of EANI.
This campaign will build on our early momentum and expand our reach through:
Deeper engagement with major donors
Broader outreach to new supporters
Continued growth in community-driven giving
Our goal is clear: to close the gap between where we are today and the funding needed to fully enter implementation.
